Shabbat is the best time of the week at Hillel.
Each week, we fill the Hillel house full of good food and good company. The whole house feels cozy and warm as we welcome in Shabbat together. The challah, matzah ball soup, and Shabbat dinner is the best in town and anyone is welcome!
Shabbat starts at 6:30 pm every week at Hillel. We can’t wait to see you there!
We always have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options available!
F.A.Q.
What time does it start?
6:30pm, every Friday
Do my friends or roommates have to be Jewish in order to celebrate Shabbat with me?
No, we welcome anyone who wants to celebrate Shabbat with you!
Are there services?
Yes! Once a month, we gather in our Hillel building at 5:45pm for Shabbat Services led by our Jewish Student Life Interns. After, we head to Shabbat dinner where we always say a blessing over the candles, wine/grape juice, and challah and then enjoy dinner together!
Is the food kosher?
We are a kosher-style facility. We do not mix milk or meat, nor do we serve any pork products, nor shellfish. When we get food from a local restaurant, the meat will not be kosher. However, when we work with a catering company to cook in-house, we try to ensure all our meat is kosher. If you have questions, please find the staff!
What food options will I have at Hillel?
We try to meet everyone’s dietary requirements at Hillel - meaning every meal we serve will have a vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan option. If you have other needs, please let a staff know so that we can accommodate those needs.
